Cut a thin uncoated paper plate in a wide spiral pattern.
Hole punch alternating sides down the length of the spiral.
Decide on the number of stars you will use.
Use this number of holes plus one for the hook. This makes your hanger.
The paper plate can be colored with red and white before cutting if desired.
Color and cut out the stars from the template.
Color some stars solid blue and other stars with red and white stripes.
Hole punch one point on each star.
Use red and blue yarn or thread to attach the stars to the hanger.
For younger children you can use pre-cut red, white and blue stars from oriental trading company.
